How To Avoid Scam SEO Companies
With the recent and continuous updates made by Google, it is definitely becoming harder for scam SEO Companies to operate. However, they are still around and thriving. To ensure that you do not hire the wrong company to handle your online marketing, I have put together a checklist to help with the interviewing process.
1. Understand The Services
Make sure you have a basic understanding of what SEO is and the specific services you will be needing. For example, there is a big difference between organic and paid search engine advertising. It won't take much time to get a good understanding of the terms and services involved with internet marketing. This is a very important step because the majority of value that resides in internet makrketing and SEO is not in the knowledge, but execution of these services.
2. What Is Being Provided
Make sure to get a clear, informative overview of all the services that are being offered. Internet marketing is all about driving traffic and increasing exposure of a business on the web. There are many different ways to do this and a good internet marketing campaign will include several task to be performed every month. Here is a list of tasks that should be performed with a decent internet marketing campaign.
3. Are The Services Cost Effective?
An internet marketing firm might provide excellent services, but how much does it cost? It is important to assess the value of these types of services not based off the return or the quality alone, but how much is being done for what price. Prices can very greatly from one company to the next in this field. A lot of times, the most established firms charge more just because of reputation. At the same time, you don't want to go with the cheapest prices either just because they are the cheapest. I have come across several so called internet marketing firms that do absolutely nothing from month to month. Ask for a break down of services provided and then ask to be provided with a fair market value of these services individually. Any Honest firm will be happy to provide this information. Here is an excellent way to gage a company's worth.
4. Review Portfolios
Make sure to check out client statistics of the internet marketing firm in question. A good marketing firm doesn't have to have hundreds of clients. In fact, these are often the worst choices. Go to google and search for relevant key words to see if the firm's clients come up on the first page of google. Then, ask the internet marketing firm how long the client has been on board. It takes time to get first page placement, but a sound candidate should have at least a few clients on the first page for highly searched key words.
5. How Did You Find The Company?
It is not always the case that first page placement of the company in question is a determinant of the company's ability. But its definitely an indication. I remember when we were not on the first page for San Diego Web Development. At the time, I believe us still to have been a good choice for internet marketing.
These are a few steps that can help greatly with finding a reliable and effective internet marketing & SEO firm. Of Course, these are not all the questions tat can lead to important truths during an interview process, but this is what I have gathered over my time working and serving others in this field.
I hope this is helpful
